Large audience increase during this year’s festival!

A big and warm thank you from Tempo to everyone who has been involved in this year’s festival by screening documentaries, taking part in talks, collaborating, volunteering or audience! We are very happy when we look back at this year’s festival edition and note that the audience is definitely back after the pandemic. This year’s festival had a 45% audience increase from last year! Thanks to you all!

One of the novelties in this year’s program was an industry day for audio documentaries, which was done in collaboration with Sveriges Radio. Among the highlights were also the karaoke screening of Karaoke Paradise and sauna listening to short radio documentaries, both in collaboration with the Finnish Institute. The festival was inaugurated with the Swedish premiere of And the King Said, What a Fantastic Machine! by Axel Danielson and Maximilien van Aertryck who also held a masterclass. It was also the premiere of the long-awaited film Ola Magnell – Den motvillige rockpoeten, which was shown followed by a musical act where, among others, Tomas Andersson Wij and Marie Bergman provided magic. Several of the short film blocks also had to be moved to larger theaters due to high audience pressure.

We look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s festival which will take place March 4-10, 2024!
