Tempo Documentary Festival – Sweden’s largest festival for documentary storytelling – is now embarking on a national documentary film tour with post-screening discussions. Through Tempo Landet Runt (Tempo Across the Country), we aim to highlight the unique power of documentary film, help make it more accessible to audiences throughout Sweden, and foster meaningful encounters and conversations.
Over the next two years, we are planning screenings in a wide range of locations, with a special focus on small and mid-sized towns. We are currently seeking cinemas interested in hosting two to three documentary film screenings, each followed by a conversation with guests – either visiting filmmakers or local voices. We will support you in finding guests and will invite the director whenever possible. You are also welcome to invite relevant guests of your own. Tempo Landet Runt covers travel, accommodation, and fees for invited guests, as well as support with public outreach.
As a participating cinema, you can choose which films you would like to screen from our curated package below, but we are happy to assist you in identifying documentaries that suit your local audience and in putting together a set of two to three films that complement each other. Tempo Landet Runt will also cover the screening guarantee fee when necessary.
Through engaging conversations about life’s big and small questions, we aim to create a platform for reflection and dialogue – and we hope your cinema will be part of this initiative!
