Milking Parlour (Mjölkgropen)

A symphony of pumping milk machines forms the soundtrack of this short film, where intimate close-ups of cows’ veined udders and teats take center stage. As a new mother, the director returns to the farm where she grew up, observing the modern milking process. The rhythmic pulsing and suction of the machines are contrasted by the calm stillness of the barn. Alongside the director, a small calf watches from the corner, silently observing.
