Work in Progress: Mamma utan minne

“My mother has no memory. But she has the words and the songs. And her hands, which keep picking and picking. I have a camera. I start filming to remember who she was.” In Mamma utan minne, Siri Ambjörnsson follows her family’s painful journey as her mother is struck by Alzheimer’s disease. What happens when the person who has always been the center of the family no longer remembers? Can love survive?

The project is presented within Tempo Work in Progress, where audiences are given an exclusive insight into some of Sweden’s most exciting documentary projects before they reach the public. As part of Tempo Work in Progress, eight films and one research project at various stages of development are presented. The program is carried out in collaboration with Svenska Filminstitutet, Film Stockholm, and SVT Dokumentär. In connection with the presentations, the Documentary Association of Europe awards the DAE Encouragement Award to one of the projects.
