A gender-affirming surgery clinic in Thailand, 2012. The director, 22 years old, is finally about to undergo the long-awaited procedure. At the hotel, preparing for the same surgery, is Meril from France. They become close friends. But life after the operation doesn’t turn out as they had both hoped, and a few years later, Meril takes her own life—alone in Paris. The film is a tribute to her, offering an honest portrayal of trans experiences—the doubts, hopes, physical pain, but also the sisterhood and solidarity that come with them.
During the screening on March 6th, the producer Malin Hüber and editor Neil Wigart will participate in a Q&A!
