When Russian troops enter Chernobyl on February 24, 2022, everything is recorded by the nuclear power plant’s surveillance cameras. Using this footage, Special Operation shows how the facility changes during the occupation: soldiers occupying control rooms and corridors, workers trying to keep operations running, and an environment where historical legacy and imminent danger color every moment. The film opens a rare window onto the everyday realities of war in one of the world’s most fraught locations.
