In the spring of 1992, a ship leaves St. Petersburg carrying 300 writers united by the dream of the Baltic Sea as a “sea of peace.” Journalist Tom Paxal documents the journey, but his footage is confiscated after he films mysterious events on the lower decks. Twenty-eight years later, he receives the material back in an anonymous package. Together with filmmaker Johan von Sydow, he sets out to uncover the truth about what really happened on board. Ship of Dreams explores the power of culture as a bridge-builder in a world threatened by dark forces.
