Sebastian Peña Rojas and Jesper Klemedsson Sotomayor’s essential feature debut is a documentary portrait centered on inheritance and trauma, set in a Sweden where it is becoming increasingly difficult to break free from one’s background. When Tabaré is three years old, his father is sentenced to life imprisonment for double murder and his mother to fourteen years for complicity. The siblings are placed in foster care, where abuse soon becomes part of everyday life. Many years later, when a close friend is murdered, the adult Tabaré is forced to confront a past he has done everything to leave behind.

Mördarens son will also be screened at S:ta Maria Magdalena kyrka on March 6th at 19.00. Free admission!
