On a weather-beaten farm in the Czech mountain region of the Šumava Forest live the eccentric twin brothers František and Ondřej. It is as if they have always lived here, beyond time and space: they converse with their beloved bull, drink one rum too many, and let their beards grow. With a lightly absurd tone, hovering between observation and theatricality, this Karlovy Vary award winner portrays the brothers’ quixotic dreams and their quiet, perpetual bickering.
