A feel-good film about geology? Yes, please! Apple Cider Vinegar begins when the director gets kidney stones. But what others would see as a painful problem, she turns into the starting point for a fascinating odyssey across the world. With a kidney stone in hand and a narrator’s voice reminiscent of a BBC nature documentary, the film takes us to Palestinian stonecutters, British geologists, activists, artists, and inhabitants of volcanic islands. A humorous, multilayered, and insightful reflection on the deep connection between the human body and the planet.
