After three years of captivity, during which she is sexually abused, a young girl, Khokha, manages to escape from IS. When she returns to her family, she learns that her father has been murdered and that some of her younger siblings are still being held captive by the terrorist organization. With a promise to her father to save them, she now takes care of her family and struggles to rescue her siblings. But falling in love confronts her with a choice between her duty to her family and her own happiness.

The project is presented within Tempo Work in Progress, where audiences are given an exclusive insight into some of Sweden’s most exciting documentary projects before they reach the public. As part of Tempo Work in Progress, eight films and one research project at various stages of development are presented. The program is carried out in collaboration with Svenska Filminstitutet, Film Stockholm, and SVT Dokumentär. In connection with the presentations, the Documentary Association of Europe awards the DAE Encouragement Award to one of the projects.
