How many times can one win and lose the audience’s trust in just 4 minutes and 33 seconds? In pursuit of visual silence, Margaux Guillemard tests the mutual trust between spectator and director. Her voice tells us what we are expected to see but something else is shown in the picture. Voyerism has ended and the traditional separation between film and audience has been abolished. The Last Name of John Cage is a meditative dialogue between a loud inner tension and the silence that surrounds it.
