In a suburb of Stockholm, a group of 13-year-olds prepare for the rhetoric competition Debattmästarna. Guided by their mentor Mariama, they train to articulate their views on charged social issues such as crime, stop-and-search zones, and profiling based on clothing. As the topics are assigned and the young participants step onto the stage, the film reveals something larger than the competition itself: how young people learn to claim space, listen to one another, and make their voices heard in a world that rarely gives them the floor.
