How can one understand life when God no longer does it for us? A participatory and intimate portrayal that grasps the emotional struggle involved in leaving the context that has shaped one’s entire worldview and identity.
A group of former Christian fundamentalists gathers at a retreat center in San Francisco. Through therapy sessions, dance, and exercises in trust, the group wrestles with rediscovering meaning and a personal identity free from the fundamentalist communities they once belonged to. It becomes a collective journey filled with tears and fear. Together, they find strength in each other, but the path away from a given identity can be challenging to follow.
After the screening on March 7, there will be a Q&A session with the film’s director, Ellen Fiske.
