With the help of scenography and a projector, the musician and actor Richard Sseruwags wakes up his past to life.
He talks about the fleeing from Idi Amin in Uganda during the 70’s. It’s about grief, hope and the new life in a foreign country. His story continues in the present time, where we follow him in his everyday life while he is working with a play about black culture workers in Sweden. Nseyeya is a portrait of a longing for freedom and to be able to express yourself, as who you are.

(Is shown together with Still Born, SEAT 26D, Trädet och skyn and 2011-12-30 in New Doc 2)

Tempo tipsar! Emilie Löfgren, redaktör för programtidningen.

I want to tell about my favorite films The Artist and the Thief; an exciting film about how a theft becomes the beginning of an unlikely friendship where they are both forced to face demons from the past. Our Time Machine is a great movie about creative anxiety, a father suffering from dementia who's memories  become increasingly blurred and the director's longing for his own family.
