Master class with Pietra Brettkelly: About the balance of power – directors and character
The relationship of power between documentary filmmakers and the central figure is what the New Zealand filmmaker Pietra Brettkelly will talk about in this master class. With a career stretching back 20 years in time, Brettkellys films have been screened at major film festivals around the world. One of her most acclaimed documentaries include Beauty Will Save the World, where she follows Libya’s first beauty contest and where we also see one of the first documentary interviews with the dictator Muammar Gaddafi. During this year’s festival she is now screening the film A Flickering Truth.
