It is becoming increasingly difficult to get your film financed at an early stage. What does the Swedish financing landscape look like when filmmakers can’t even afford to pay their own salary? We want to talk about financing documentary film in Sweden and how we can achieve a financially sustainable film production. Before the talk, the Danish production company Elk Film will present its financing initiative EFDF – a fund they run together with Dogwoof and Vækstfonden. The conversation series Samtal pågår was initiated in 2016 and follows the spirit of filmmaker Tove Torbiörnsson and producer Göran Gunér. The arrangement is simple – we talk, exchange thoughts and experiences and are enriched by each other. We encourage all attendees to participate in the discussion in a non-judgmental environment.
