“If I couldn’t be a princess, I wanted to be a writer.” The author Sina Stoor was called a literary prodigy after her debut with the short story collection Bli som folk. But in Elin Berge’s sensitive and intimate portrait, she has writing cramp. Love has brought Stina from the interior of Västerbothnia to a palace in Istanbul. But her life is no Cinderella story. Although “writing is her mother tongue”, she struggles with the very same things in life that she builds her literary material upon: growing up, a problematic relationship with her now demented father – and the question of how far one can go in the autobiographical. The photographer and now director Elin Berge has also captured the Västerbothnia landscape with sensual presence.
