What do you do when you find out you have a short time left to live? When a young filmmaker receives a severe cancer diagnosis, he starts a film project.
What was supposed to be a film about the director’s father grieving the loss of his son soon grows into a reckoning with their entire family history. It becomes a darkly humorous exploration of finding hope in the toughest of times. Red Herring – an English expression denoting something that distracts from the real problem – is an affirming film about death, or perhaps about life, that does not shy away from discussing that it all comes to an end someday. An unexpectedly uplifting film about grief and reconciliation.
The screenings are followed by a Q&A with the director Kit Vincent.
