For almost 170 years, people have pilgrimaged to Lourdes for the water that – perhaps – heals and restores.
Lourdes’ magical spring is visited by six million people each year – twice as many as visit Mecca. A collage of voices and carefully composed images gives us a different view of the pilgrims. The prayers they direct to higher authorities are not only health-related but can be about the neighbor’s annoying music, assistance in getting a coveted job, or finding love. But it’s essential to pray in the right way.
