Dogs, cats and frogs are just a few of the animals that have been sent into space. The chimpanzee Ham survives a 16-minute journey into space and a crash in the Atlantic, paving way for Yuri Gagarin, who a few months later becomes the first human in space. The Conquest of Space offers fascinating and historically significant footage from NASA between 1947-1972.

The Conquest of Space is the final part of a retrospective exhibition in three parts, based on Albin Biblom’s many years of work exploring humanity’s desire to explore, but also control, animals and nature. The previous parts are Mechkar – The Story of a Bulgarian Bear Owner and Curiosity and Control provides visitors with insights into his in-depth research.

The vernissage will take place at the Centrum för fotografi on March 7 between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. During the vernissage, there will be a conversation with Albin Biblom. The entrance if free.
